I know that when the smallpox epidemic hit the supreme court ruled to make it mandatory all children get it. Knowing now that it did nearly eradicate the disease should all vaccines be mandated?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, I know that smallpox was a good target for eradication because it is really easy to spot (no pun intended) the people who have it. The problem with a lot of disease is that they have non human reservoirs (i.e. rabies, influenza, malaria), which makes it really difficult to eradicate.
